3 Ways to Make the Most of Your Holiday in Florence, Italy

Are you an avid lover of exotic and luxurious places? Have you traveled to the most luxurious countries scattered across the globe? Well them, Pederson Travel Service knowns exactly where your next holiday should be: Florence in Italy!

A holiday in this exotic country is best planned during spring, especially if you love hearty food! But we digress. In Florence, you only need 2 things to enjoy your day even when rain falls hard: Your walking shoes and an insatiable appetite to learn about a wonderful culture!

Being a full-service travel agency in Watertown, South Dakota, we chose Italy because we know it will give you a vacation experience unlike any other.

The activities and attractions awaiting you there are guaranteed to make your vacation something to cherish long after you leave Florence. We reckon the places below should give you the fun, luxury, and adventure you seek.

· Museums Everywhere You Look

Get this: Florence has a whopping 72 museums! Let’s put that in perspective for you: If you took a trip to 1 museum each day, you’ll still have more than 40 museums left to cover. With so many museums ready to enlighten you on the history and culture of Italy and beyond, you’ll never be short of great places to go and broaden your knowledge.

Our favorite places to visit are the Santa Maria Novella complex, the Museo Galileo (the glass-encased finger of the scientist himself is in this place!) and the Basilica of San Lorenzo. And if you’re a fan of the legendary Michelangelo, the Medici Chapels will be an absolute treat. They’re incredibly beautiful and unique, with their precious stones and inlaid marble. Even if you’re not too keen on history, you’ll find the museums in Florence quite endearing.

· A Steaming Cup of Tea in Palazzo Frescobald

The Palazzo Frescobald is a very prestigious place in Florence, and for a number of reasons. Florentines and foreigners alike frequent the shops and tea rooms there. A hot cup of sweet tea? Check. An elegant place to have a little snack? Check.

Many vacationers head to Palazzo Frescobald to marvel at the surroundings as well as enjoy the cream tea and finger sandwiches served there. You might think tea is nothing special but once you try a cup, you’ll understand why this is such a famed and loved place.

· Pick Up a Good Book

Books are easily the best way to stretch out and relax. Florence has a number of bookshops, and it’s quite easy to find something that piques your curiosity. Might we suggest a few stores? The Paperback Exchange, found near Duomo, is a great resource for great books-especially English ones. But if we had to pick a favorite shop, it would be Todo Modo, which is essentially a hybrid bookstore and bar. We’re serious! Is there a better example of ‘killing two birds with one stone’ than this? We think not.

Florence is a wonderful place. Pederson Travel Service can vouch for this, and so can all the customers we took to Italy and back again. They had a wonderful time in Florence, and you will too.
